A Ranking of All Beatles Songs

We all have our favorites. I saw a few other folks attempting this exercise and while I agreed with some selections, I disagreed with others.  Instead of ranking what I like best, here’s what I think is a ranking of the songs by impact and quality.  I did not put all of the chart hits…

We all have our favorites. I saw a few other folks attempting this exercise and while I agreed with some selections, I disagreed with others.  Instead of ranking what I like best, here’s what I think is a ranking of the songs by impact and quality.  I did not put all of the chart hits at the top, but many are there.

Not every song was a classic, but many were. Even lesser songs are memorable for a variety of reasons, including an innovative arrangement or recording technique.

After I first compiled the list, I re-ordered and moved many songs around, trying to find the ranking that made the most sense to me.  The medley of songs on side two of Abbey Road is considered one song for this list, because that’s how it plays in my head.
