Flying so low you can stub all your toes
Where life is a plaintive rhapsody
Skies are crisscrossed with rocket trails
And hopes are full of hard reality
Somewhere under the radar
People scramble for cover
I dare not let myself dream
The truth is too hard to discover
Bluebirds are crowded out by drones
You’ll find me under the treetops
Hugging the scared children
Avoiding the helicopter troop drops
Somewhere under the radar
Children are forced from school
Fathers are murdered without justice
Life can be terribly cruel
Someday the soldiers will go home
Our troubles just hazy nightmares
Babies easily sleep to a mother’s rockabye
And life moves on with only normal cares
Somewhere under the radar
Birds fill the trees with song
In a land we don’t have to imagine
Maybe it won’t take so long
