Nearly nine years and 1,800 blogs. I’ve written myself into a rut. Time for a respite to figure out what’s ahead. Eighteen hundred is just a number, not a milestone or great achievement, more like a mile marker.

I got married a couple of months ago and I’m still settling in, and we’re working on the rhythm of life together. I’ve tackled several big blog subjects recently, requiring a lot time reading and research time, which caused me to question how I apportion time.

Over the past several months I’ve tinkered with the my blog site, trying to find a better presentation, and redesigning my logo. I’ve not hit on anything that communicates the message, yet.

My plan is to continue writing, but I may hold back posting anything for a while. I’m undecided, so stay tuned.

The pieces will fit together…

Peace.

Mike

  1. I know how you feel, brother. I love blogging, especially when I get feedback. (Ego, maybe? I’m not sure. All I know is clicking that Publish button feels darn good.) But getting some distance, some breathing room, is also good. The blogosphere needs more smart people like you, so please don’t be gone too long!

  2. Congrats, Mike, nearly nine years and 1,800 posts is an impressive record!

Blogging can take a lot of time. Obviously, I know first hand. As such, I completely hear you that you feel that now is the right moment for you to hit the pause button and reflect.

At end of the day, I think blogging is supposed to be fun and should never feel like an obligation. That said, I will admit it’s easy to fall into the “I-have-to-post” trap, especially if you have recurring features.

    Enjoy your break! 🙂

    1. Thanks. Appreciate your comment. I love blogging, but I’ve not stepped back lately and made sure that I was doing the things that brought me the most happiness. As a blogger, you get it. Thanks again!
