When you travel, time changes can be challenging, equally puzzling for both the mind and body. The days already seem longer; it’s strange going to sleep when there is still daylight.
Today was our stop in Juneau, and it was one of those 200-plus days of rain. It started with sprinkles, then rained steadily on us.
First up, we had a two-hour cruise watching for humpback whales. We saw a few break the water, despite the boats full of eager sightseers.

We were lucky to catch a group of Orcas, as we were told Orcas have a nine hundred mile feeding ground. These chaps were scared off by the boat engines or gawkers.

Then finally, we ventured into the Mendenhall Valley for a bit of icy history. The size of this glacier is amazing, and the work of glaciers in general, contouring vast areas of land and creating beautiful lakes in the process.

The rock outcrops still show the scars of the powerful Mendenhall Glacier.

This was a long, wet day. Time to visit the bar. Cheers!
