Drop Anchor

Riding the seas, shore at my back

Salt washing my sun-splashed face

Tailwind and a full smokestack

Disappearing without a trace

That notion swims in my thoughts

Of tranquil nights at an offbeat resort

A forceful pace pushing thirty knots

Surfacing quietly at a distant port

The new day launches my first day

This harbor is the sojourn’s end

Retired from the endless pathway

Traveling finis, ready to transcend

Seek your purpose, go explore

Dropping anchor, all ashore
