We’re vacationing in Maine this week. Neither of us have been here before, although it’s easy to spot some really great things.

  1. The summer weather is much cooler than back in the Midwest.
  2. Acadia National Park is a great attraction, so many things to explore including the coastline.
  3. The towns are very welcoming and remind me of the laidback town I grew up in. They value their downtowns with so many shops and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Portland and Bar Harbor.
  4. There’s water everywhere. The ocean has a wealth of marine life, and such history. Lighthouses are very cool to visit and learn their stories.
  5. The people of Maine are very friendly and helpful. We’ve noticed this everywhere we’ve been.

I’d love to come back, but tourist season is very pricey, and it’s wall-to-wall people. Still, I’ll have great memories of our trip to Maine.

  1. One of my favorite states. We were in Bah Hah-bah at a B&B eight years ago. I hiked all over Acadia. Did you try the lobster rolls?

Glad you had fun, and love the cartoon postcard!
