We’re vacationing in Maine this week. Neither of us have been here before, although it’s easy to spot some really great things.
- The summer weather is much cooler than back in the Midwest.
- Acadia National Park is a great attraction, so many things to explore including the coastline.
- The towns are very welcoming and remind me of the laidback town I grew up in. They value their downtowns with so many shops and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Portland and Bar Harbor.
- There’s water everywhere. The ocean has a wealth of marine life, and such history. Lighthouses are very cool to visit and learn their stories.
- The people of Maine are very friendly and helpful. We’ve noticed this everywhere we’ve been.
I’d love to come back, but tourist season is very pricey, and it’s wall-to-wall people. Still, I’ll have great memories of our trip to Maine.
