Yesterday Again

We’ve passed this way before

Memories of what’s in store

I’ve traveled inside this dream

Returning to that point upstream

I know the words to all the songs

Sang about the rights and wrongs

We can choose a different pathway

But end up on the previous day

In the mirror I see Bill Murray

Learning all I can in a hurry

If we could do yesterday all over

Would we always end in a holdover

Every grain of sand is gone forever

Disappearing with the next endeavor

In yesterday I see tomorrow

Searching for the double rainbow

The ink on the page is cracked and dry

There’s little intrigue to de-mystify

The reddish sunlight through your hair

Catches my sideways glance in midair

Captured forever in my history

To always hint of lost mystery
