These days are long, nights auspicious
The canopy of stars reaches to infinity
In darkness, drifting beneath the heavens
Imagining the cosmos when it lost its virginity
Swept away by roaring starlight rains
Streaking across the glistering starfield
Dreams swirl into lustrous puddles
Primordial secrets are slowly revealed
Hitching a ride on a comet tail
Circling God’s experiment for eternity
Waiting to write the laws of physics
Mother Nature prepares for maternity
A moment ahead of the Big Bang
Before the beginning of time
Not yet a twinkle in the universe
But some day our lives will rhyme
