You and I Have a Secret

Neither of us will confess

Don’t bother to guess

You’ll get that dumb smile

Stretching wider than a mile

I’m silent, not offering a thing

But singing like a Robin in spring

Respect is found in equal parts

Growing between kindred hearts

Life challenges the unsuspected

Pulling the hearts of the neglected

Dreams will melt if left in the sun

Remember, time does not stop for anyone

You appeared and changed my course

Like a hurricane’s powerful force
