Kindred spirits and co-conspirators
Oblivious to our many gaffes and faults
From our best to the depths of trouble
Falling down drunk doing somersaults
Joyously we sailed the river of youth
Navigating jagged rocks and white water
Hard miles, dead-ends and detours
Separate trails far from the alma mater
There were long periods of silence
Lives shifting into other gears
Never forgetting as time marched by
Why did we lose so many years
Time seemed limitless and renewable
Now it seems such a wasteful blunder
Hoping flowers reappear every spring
The sight of buds bring back the wonder
