My companion, the late night tube
Forever friends all these years
Sleep, the inconsiderate party guest
An alternative for late night beers
—
Maybe I’m actually a vampire
Since nighttime is my playground
Could this explain my howling
And pace restlessly like a wolfhound
—
I long for my plasma screen
Eyes glued on the clock all night
Mornings are sleepless and tiring
A reflection would be a fright
—
In the late hours, real darkness descends
It’s our own demons we should fear
Slowing the body, speeding the mind
Thru the looking glass we disappear
