Confessions of the Heart

Strewn shards and cracked pieces

The sky rained confusion

Blurring my cloudy vision

In the mirror, a ghostly illusion

It wasn’t your job to save me

This soul hollowed and distressed

Without knowing, you patched my spirit

I will confess, I feel blessed

On one knee, I finally came to see

I’m a creature of independence

Avoiding the trail, I’ll carve my own

Against the wind, everything intense

In darker hours, I felt you there

The better times, also with me

A shooting star powers the imagery

We dream farther than we see

I hoped for someone, like you

A best friend, a souloist

Someone who truly knows, this man

Overlooking the flaws, this fictionist
