The cooling rain charges the air
Electrifying the fine mist
Smoldering clouds boil away
Mother Nature’s emboldened kiss
—
The hammer strikes the heavens
My skin is chilly and alive
The anger and fury of nature
If vengeful, we shouldn’t survive
—
But we do, perhaps undeserving
Birds resume their vocalisation
The ground is recharged and lush
Life adapts to human purgation
—
Rain, rain please don’t fade away
Aquifers and lakes are naked and dying
Grocery shelves stock only sickly produce
The future is bleak and horrifying
—
Planet waves, cover the flat globe
Reigning down PCBs and benzene
Death courtesy from our better living
Please pass me some Soylent Green
